Hey everyone!
I have been on here for a while now and decided to finally introduce our dog!
My husband and I adopted a 3 yr old shiba inu about 2 weeks ago. He is cream/white colored and his name is Mochi.
He is still getting used to his new home and surroundings and our rules.
He used to be a backyard dog and now lives with us in an apartment so it's a big change for him, especially the new schedule but he is doing well apart from crate training... We are working hard on that since he used to be able to go whenever he had to outside.
We do walk/run with him twice a day for at least an hour so he gets plenty of exercise every day.
Mochi is very sweet, way too smart, very curious, obedient whenever he is calm, he doesn't like to go for walks in the pouring rain, is starting to become more playful and less anxious. We're getting him used to several sounds he doesn't like too much but since he is almost always more curious than afraid, it is quite easy for us.
As long as he is on a leash, the walks with him are perfect now (after only two weeks and no prior leash training whatsoever!!) In the car, he lays down whenever he gets too tired or there are too many turns on the road but most of the time he loves to stand up against the window to look outside! (he even managed to open the window twice!... lol we usually lock it now!)
Compared to alot of other dogs, Mochi actually enjoyed the fireworks on the 4th of July!!
Anyway, I think this introduction was quite long. I hope everyone enjoyed it (if you finished reading it! haha) and I am looking forward to further reading and posting on here!
