Default Advice on dog epilepsy

Hi!

My Dalmatian dog (6 years old) has been diagnosed with primary epilepsy in December 2007. After first few fits she was put on phenobarbiton. For a short period of time she was fine but fits returned (she is prone to cluster seizures – more than one fit in 24 hours), and after that her dosage of phenobarbiton has been increased every time she had a fit without success. Few months ago another medication Keppra was introduced along with phenobrbiton but that doesn’t seem to help either. We have got to the stage where vet increases dosage of medication more and more and she has seizures more frequently. For the last month she has had them every week. I feel so helpless and devastating.
Recently I have found out a website allergicpet.com which sells homeopathic herbs and spices capsules and drops called “Vet Select Seizure Formula”. I was wondering if anyone used it and if so did you find it helpful. Testimonials of people on their web site are quite good but I would like to hear someone else’s experiences as well. Any good advice to help me how to deal with this problem would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I suggest you buy the book entitled Nature of Animal Healing by Martin Goldstein, DVM. It has a discussion on dog epilepsy on pg. 203. Homeopathic remedies on dog illnesses are also tackled.

Where did her previous medicine came from? Don't just take any hear-so-effective medicines around, have a professional advices from veterinarians. Her situation is not easy, seek more than one vet consultation.
