Have you tried boiling water and placing thinly sliced lemon in it let it sit over night and then put in spray bottle. It acts as a bug repelent. Also DE works wonders for my shepherds.

Yes, I too have a epileptic dog and many chemicals set him off into cluster seizures. There are some great all natural flea preventative shampoos out there now. I really like the Buddy Wash line of shampoo/conditioner, and the Ark Naturals neem oil line.

What meds is your baby on? Giving them 5x/day seems excessive. My little guy takes phenobarbitol and potassium bromide, it wasn't until we added the potassium bromide that we started to get any real control over the seizures. I highly recommend you go to Canine Epilepsy Resources - this site has TONS of useful information. I've been dealing with Ricky Roo's epilepsy for more than 3 yrs now and it just becomes second nature. Ricky's seizures hit in cycles, he'll go for 3-5 months practically seizure free (may have a few focal seizures here & there) and then he'll have a week long cycle of back to back to back seizures. During that time all we can really do for him is double up his phenobarb and give valium in an effort to break the cycle. It's heartbreaking to watch.
