Woof to you all
Well, hello there to all of you from the three of us, my 12yr old Shep mix Schatzi ( German for treasure), my 4 yr old Jack Russel Terrier Buddy and myself from the bay area in California. Both Schatzi and Buddy are rescues from the same shelter. Schatzi was given up at the age of 2 1/2 yrs old and adopted on a beautiful day in May. She is very loving, loyal and just the sweetest dog. Last year when my son went to the shelter to adopt a bunny I happened to come across the website and looked at the dogs that were available. A very cute little white mutt named Princess caught my eye. I decided to drive up to the shelter with my son and have a closer look at her. The funny thing was that on the way there an old song by the Rolling Stones kept playing and one line seemed to stand out..." You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you might find, you get what you need". That is exactly what happened. Princess already had been adopted and as we walked through the rows of cages all the way in the back we heard a little squeak and bark. A small skinny cinnamon and white colored Jack Russell stood there, one ear up and one down, which gave him a very funny look. The rest pretty much is history, after a great walk, meeting his new sister and them getting along great, we took Buddy home. A few territorial quarrels at home with Schatzi and all was well and the order extablished. Both are very attached to each other now and sometimes a regular Bonnie and Clyde team that can be very comical.
I do hope to share many stories, get input and hopefully be able to provide a few ideas and experiences of my own as well. Looking forward to meeting you and your fur babies.
