Smile Sir Didymus and family

Hi there!
My name is Chantel, I am the proud owner of my little Papillon Sir Didymus (named after the fox from Labyrinth because thats who he looks like)
I am a single 29 year old mother of a wonderful 4 year old Boy named Ben and we have Finley (male Betta), Pip and Pop (parakeets) and Sir Didymus as our wonderful family! We live in Littleton Colorado.
I am a full time student, studying Mortuary Science and Embalming, I dont work, just go to school so i have a lot of free time when im not studying!
I rescued Sir Didymus from an EXTREMELY abusive home just today.
The man made no qualms about the fact he just DID NOT like him, i dont even think he had named him. He is terrified of men and children, but never tries to lash out or bite, he cowers and hides.
He is extremely emaciated and malnourished, skin and bones and his coat is just dull and hairs are falling out left and right.
he is skittish around me too, but he will come lay on me and sit in my lap and come to me if i crouch down and reach out to him.
He walks on a leash well too. Every time he comes to me I praise him and love on him. My son is doing very well being calm and gentle around him too, and Didymus even layed on me with Ben today too!
I am hoping to make some new friends here and share our journey toward Didymus' realization of what an amazing little guy he is and how much he is loved.

Welcome to the site ...(I am also new....this is a great website, you can get alot of good information here ).... Sounds like Sir Didymus has finally found a good home. Good luck and remember with time, patience and lots of love and good food he should be able to get over any kind of issues he has because of his last owner. More then likely he needs a really good checkup including a heartworm test.Since his last owner was that mean to him he more then likely needs shots also.

So glad you gave him a very loving home. Let him to the vet first for full check and any necessary shots. I'm really feeling a great story of Didymus...
