I have a new baby (puppy!)
Hello All / ”Hola a todos!
I joined at the beginning of the year to ask help identifying a Spanish breed of dog I saw, as I hoped to find one of the same that needed rescuing.
Well, now I am the proud owner of a rather scruffy "rambla dog" pup called Ibby. I have added a few photos to the album section of my profile but I have attached one of them to this post too.
I am led to believe she may be related to the Gos D'atura or Catalan Goat Herding/Sheepdog. The Spanish seem to tell me that is what she is, but I am stopped at least once a day, while out walking her, by non-Spanish people who have never seen one like her before.
Please let me know if the identification is correct or not, as that is what I have been telling them !
I live in Southern Spain, near Almerķa and I am seeing lots more of this lovely country thanks to my dog !
Now off to continue her regime of training....and to read all the tips on this website.

Ibby thanks you for the compliments! Ibby however has little thanks for me at the moment as it has not been long since her return from the vet after being chipped, neutered and boostered.
BTW - the name "Ibby" comes from the Spanish nickname of Isabel.
The funniest thing she does at the moment is "herd" and she will do it to just about anything. My parents have a 15 year old Yorkshire Terrier and Ibby herds him like he was a goat! Of course, this can have its disadvantages especially at walk time coz trying to get her to walk in a straight line is proving "interesting" to say the least!
”Hasta Luego!

I have never seen a breed like that before. But I think that is what is so great about it! What a gorgeous dog It's a head-turner. The cota reminds me of an Italian Spinone. However their ears do not stand up like that, so it's not a Spinone. Let's just say it's one of a kind! Broke the mold
