They are Italian greyhounds. They are very small. My male, Nino, is 10lbs and Mia is 22lbs. They vary in size sometimes.

It is funny in a way since many do not understand that they are actually a hunting/ferreting breed. So many see them as docile but this breed in many cases still carry much of their instincts. While Charlie is a former AKC show dog and very docile, Bella is just the opposite and prone to viewing my Miniature Pinschers and Papillons as prey objects on occasion and can get quite rough with them. A long time breeder of Miniature Pinschers I know was asked by a friend to finish her 7 IG's to CH status some years back as she was very ill. My breeder friend took them in not knowing much about them and without knowing what they would do let them out of the kennels into the play area with her Miniature Pinschers. The 7 IG's immediately attacked the Miniature Pinschers, luckily none were hurt badly but like most she admitted she was not aware of the breed as far as what it was bred for. This is one half the breed that comprises the Miniature Pinscher. The other half is the smooth coated Dachshund. This is one of the reason German farmers used the IG in conjunction with the Dachshund. It offered longer swifter legs as well as the ferreting skills.
These 2 all in all do well with my 12 Miniature Pinschers, 3 Papillons and my German Pinscher.
