Just want to say "Hi Everyone" and introduce myself.
I'm a proud owner of a charming 4 year old labradoodle, Charlie, whom I love dearly. He is an integral part of our family and goes everywhere with us (including a 4 week camping road trip to western Canada).
I am very active in a number of dog related disciplines. I have taken numerous courses with my dog and am apprenticing with a dog training/behaviourist to continue to grow my understanding of dog psychology and training.
We have been doing therapy dog work at a local hospital for 2 years now and I am very touched by the loving ministry he provides to those he visits (both patients and staff). Therapy dog work is extremely rewarding and I would encourage others who have the time, to consider giving it a try.
We have been doing dog agility together for a few years now. Agility is excellent for teaching your dog to focus on you while off leash, it challenges your dog (and yourself) to think. Personally, I find the thinking part of agility to be much more of a challenge than Charlie does. (he's much better at agility than I am

)
A big passion for me is dog nutrition. I made the transition from kibble to raw over 3 years ago and wouldn't dream of feeding my dog anything else but real food. I slept like a baby through the massive commercial pet food recalls. I'm an analyst by trade and a voracious reader, so I have read everything I could get my hands on about dog nutrition, and am always on the lookout for more sources of information.
I look forward to exchanging ideas about dog behaviour and nutrition and would be happy to share my experiences with others.
