Hi my name is Sam, and i have two puppies, Reg -> miniature poodle 5 mths, and Mia -> Schnug 5 mths. Both born in August.

I am currently trying to do the whole training thing and not going to well but still trying.

If anyone knows anything anbout female dogs and going into heat please message back...???

Hi Sam - I'm sure you have your hands full with two 5 month old pups. I can remember training my pup Lola when she was young - it wasn't easy!

As for females going into heat, it seems like they start their first cycle VERY early, like at around 6 months if I remember correctly. I recommend getting your dogs spayed as soon as possible because a female's cycle can be quite an ordeal, especially if they are indoor dogs. I let my Lola go for about 2 years without getting her spayed and she had about 2-3 cycles a year. I used to use diapers on her, but she really didn't like it and eventually learned to tear them off. Needless to say, it was really messy when she was in heat. I finally got her fixed and what a relief! You never have to worry about your dog going into heat again.
