We are new here
Hi, I am new here. I have two dogs who I love more than anything. I'm working toward becoming a groomer but with this economy well you know. but I've made great progress towards that. And I am just looking for a dog forum that we can call home. I will say I do have a bit of a temper and at times it gets the best of me but I don't mean to ever come off that way. I'm stubborn so that is where my problem lies. And gotten me in some trouble with some forums before. But I feel I've learned from that and don't want that to happen here. I just wanted to lay it all out there.
In the past I had a problem with some of the bully breeds but I'm working on getting past that. Infact I spent some time with an American Pit bull Terrier on sunday. Sweet dog
But I have 2 dogs. A poodle and a Terrier mix (when think she is mixed with Basenji but we will never know for sure)
The four of us are planning on relocating in the near future near family and once we do we are seriously going to consider getting an Australian Cattle Dog to help out on the farm (relatives farm) and be a beloved family pet.
That is really all there is to know about us. We are from the south and love to travel and take our dogs with us.
I would like to get both my dogs involved in agility but finances aren't allowing for it at this moment and I have been told they are too young (I think they need to be 18 months but my older one is getting close)
I just wanted to lay this all on the line upfront (especially incase there are members here from maybe other forums I was on that I may have upset)
I'm stubborn and opinionated and I know it causes problems but I'll try not to let that happen.
Honesty is the best policy I have learned so if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them for you about us.
I just feel you learn a little bit every day from your mistakes.
Thanks and I look forward to getting to know all of you and your dogs!
Marie

Welcome. That's good that you got to spend some time with the PB, they're a great dog. Cattle Dogs are cool too, I hope you get your farm, groomer permit (they do have to have a permit right?), and are able to enter your dogs in agility.
Can you try to teach them stuff now, on your own? Create your own jumps and tunnels?

Hi nice to meet you- opinions are just that - and as long as its not downright mean and snotty then that makes for good convo- I used to run dog forums and it could get ugly- let alone clicky. Everyone seems very nice here I hope you enjoy it

Thanks. Its my dads farm. He is needing some extra help so we've agreed to come out there and help out.
We figure that would be a great time to add A Cattle Dog to the family. We have always liked them and almost got one on two different occasions but we know that is a breed that needs to do what it was bred for or atleast something similar.
Yes grooming requires certification, all I can do right now is bathe but I plan to take the classes very soon.
As far as agility. We were told until they were 18 months they run too many risks of getting hurt and unless we know what we are doing its best not to make jumps and things yet.
Anyways It was nice to meet all of you
