Okay You all have met me you should meet my pups.
I have a Minature Poodle named Zachary (but I refer to him as Zackie all the time) and a Mix name Sasha.
Zackie is a fun little guy. He can be pretty hyper but he has a heart of gold. He touches the lives of everyone he meets. And if it weren't for him I don't think my Grandfather would still be alive (my grandmother thinks this too as does my uncles, my mom who has a medical job won't buy into that but she doesn't like dogs) Anyways my grandfather had a stroke right before we got Zack and at the time he wouldn't leave the house he just wanted to sit in his chair.
Well we had to go out of town a few times unexpected (well one time was for our honeymoon) and we left little Zackie with him. and within that week we were gone my grandfather was up and about tinkering in the yard and stuff. We left Zackie with him two more times and after the 3rd visit my grandfather was out and about doing his little eletrical jobs again. Zackie got him up and going again. And then when we got Sasha he watched them both a couple of times. (We had to attend a memorial service out of town and we had one other trip)
Now my grandfather has made a full recovery and he now has his own little rescued Bichon/Poodle mix named Addie
He said he wanted a dog like Zack but he wanted to adopt one and Sashas story was up on Petfinder (I posted an adoption story about her) and Addie was at the bottom of the page.
And now my uncle is going the adoption route for his next poodle. My grandparents feel Zack and Sasha have inspired so much good.
We almost lost Zack about 5 months ago. He had been having such bad stomach problems since he was a little pup and the vet never did any real tests on him or anything and kept sending him home. After we moved here we started seeing a new vet and she started looking into it further as to what was causing his dramatic weight loss (he is a minature poodle but he was down to 5 pounds)
One morning the little guy woke me off because he was coughing and he started to cough up blood. I got him straight the vet and she ran all sorts of test. It came back as Pancreatitis. Apparently quite common in poodles. But he was very sick. Luckily it was just Acute so that is good. He now is doing well. He is up to 11 pounds and loves meal time and his new food (California Naturals Chicken and Rice) a very happy and healthy boy.
Now About Sasha. She is our little mystery gal. Though we know she is part Jack Russell terrier....we are clueless to what else (though we think she may be part basenji or Corgi)
She is a sweet little gal, pretty even tempered and very lazy. She loves to watch tv and cuddle. She graduated from obedience class and she is a very quick learner.
Sasha actually surprised us recently. We didn't smell it until after she started barking but our apartment filled up with smoke and she actually went over the fireplace and started barking. (Our neighbors above us didn't open there flew or however you spell it and the smoke was backing into our apartment) Sasha basically told us where it was coming from.
Here are some photos:
These first two are of Zackie
