Is your female in season? Are your dog's spayed & neutered? If they are then it is most likely dominance. If they are still intact keep them FAR AWAY from eachother and call your vet about getting your girl spayed! Some vets will do a heat spay but you are better off keeping them away from eachother until you can get her spayed when she is no longer is heat.

You should look at some other posts on here about breeding. If you're struggling with keeping two dogs from scratching and whining... do you think you're able to handle puppies screeching at the top of their lungs until they all find loving new homes? Look into health testing and the whole shebang.. it gets complicated and long if you do it RIGHT. And there is no profit in good breeding. Seriously.. research it all. But most importantly with labs, hips and eyes have to be checked.

well my male labrador has been tied with her twice, could she get pregnant at 8 months old and is there any dangers of this?
Sorry this is the first time that i have encountered this and i have never seen it before so i have no idea on how to deal with this, the vet said she would be ok but im still unsure

YES, she most certainly can get pregnant at 8 months -- as early as 5 or 6 months.
Frankly, if you know so little about dogs, you really have no business breeding the dogs. There are so many dogs in shelters and rescues--many coming from people such as yourself who have no idea what they are doing.
Go to Pet adoption: Want a dog or cat? Adopt a pet on Petfinder and do a search for labs. Look at how many come up. Do you really want to contribute to that?!?
Get your dogs--both of them--spayed immediately. Then, begin educating yourself on caring for dogs. Learn how to control and care for the two you have. If you really are interested in quality breeding, learn first...do later.

Get her to the vet RIGHT AWAY having a litter at 8 months old could easily kill her. See if it is possible to have an emergency spay done (if it is early enough you can). OH MY!!! This is very upsetting. Is your male at least OFA, CERF for hips, elbows, heart and optigen? I really hope so... not only is your girl in danger you are at risk of producing puppies with crippling hip problems or ones that are blind! I used to work with someone who's 10 month old female got pregnant by accident. She almost died, spent 2 weeks at the vet, lost 5 out of the 7 puppies and spent THOUSANDS in vet bills to save her girl and the 2 surviving puppies.

I am sorry to react like this but it is very upsetting to hear. It is like a 11 year old girl getting pregnant!

Well i have to say, when checking this post (to see if there were any replies after mine) i was terribly upset too. This is another "got two dogs, don't know what i'm doing, going to have a litter" situation. No health testing was done (i assume) but most importantly, your female is TOO young! Ignorance and negligence have led to a litter of puppies who will definately be adding to an overpopulation (and not just homeless dogs in general, but DEFINATELY to the labrador breed specifically). There are soooo many out there already looking for home. Labs are a good dog, but there's definately already a plenitude of them to choose from.. adding more through your situation will upset many people. It was completely unneccesary and now a problem rather than a solution. What says more is who you got the dog from. I wouldn't EVER let my puppies go to someone without a s/n contract if they didn't know anything about dogs. Less than 10% of my puppies will ever go with full registration and it's to approved, loving indoor homes who have done their research. There is a mis-mate shot available at some vets but it has to be administered within three days. This post was from 6 days ago so i assume its too late. Wow.. i'm awestruck really. I don't think anyone here is trying to be crass, especially me, but its ridiculous that it happened. She's still a puppy herself and now she has to grow up that fast. Well, if there's a lesson here to anyone with puppies or anyone who considers themself a breeder, you have to pay close attention where your puppies go.. because they could end up in situations like this.
