Your boxer is a senior now and may have something to do w/age. In one of my books "Earl Mindell's nutrition and Health for Dogs" ---he gives listings of what each breed of dog---heading is Breed-Specific Health Problems---under boxer it 'says' Incontinence-Loss of control of urination and bowel movements
Also gives-Spondylosis--A malformation of the vertebrae as another possible health problem boxers can have. I can't put it the right words but reading frm another book(Dog Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook) problems to do w/the nervous system---I'm thinking to do w/maybe pressure on some nerves--the Spondylosis or here is a quote frm this last book I mentioned under Spinal Cord Injuries--Spinal cord injuries are associated w/ruptured discs and vertebral fractures and dislocations caused by accidents such as automobile accidents, gunshot wounds and FALLS. Immediately after a spine injury, there may be neck or back pain, weakness or paralysis of the legs, a stumbling gait, loss of feeling in the limbs and URINARY OR FECAL INCONTINENCE. Signs that progress after an injury are often caused by tissue swelling, which interferes w/the blood supply to the spinal cord and may cause permanent paralysis. I am no expert--just have a lot of books and do a lot of looking up when I see problems people post on their dogs (I love dogs) Are there any other things, subtle or otherwise, that you may have noticed going on at this same time--more clues? In a nutshell frm what I've read--older dog w/tendency for incontinence, or nerve-spinal problems. Did he have some kind of accident--a fall--etc. in past few days or weeks?
If you would want to know more on what this other book I mentioned here has to say about what boxers are 'prone' to, let me know and I'll send some---there are quite a few things.

If your dog is doing something out of character such as having potty mistakes in the house, you should go to the vet. Especially since the dog is a senior, he may be experiencing some effects of age which includes incontinence. Canine Cognitive Disorder (CCD) is similar to human's dementia. My senior dog is showing some early signs of this. It is hard to watch our friends age but we own it to them to take care of them after all the devotion they've given us.

Should of ended that message I sent you with----Be sure and keep an eye on it all and if things get worse or new serious symptoms develop-best to see the vet---as I said I'm no expert! Hope everything is okay now and nothing too serious. Keep us posted on how things are going. I had a boxer once--got a cocker and a cocker/golden retriever now---mine are seniors too- 1 will be 10 April 1st and other will be 11 on June 13. lol! "Oldies but Goodies"

Hi again--I just looked at your profile and see that you have a new boxer too--HOW LONG have you had it------Could that have something to do w/the older 1st one w/the incontinence!!!---If just got this other new one recently it may be an insecurity issue w/the older dog!!---hope that is all it could be!?
