Hi everybody,

I own a stud Chihuahua and his name is Chichi. Anyway I left him on the couch for not even a minute before I came back into the room and I saw blood on the couch, at first I though it was ink but then I saw him licking his foot. When I picked it up to get a closer look I got blood all over my hands and saw that he had torn his dew nail [I think that's what it's called] clean in half though it is still attached at the bottom and when I touched it, it would start bleeding again. I really have no clue what to do, so if anyone could give me some advice that would be great.

Take him to the vet. Let us know how he makes out when you get home.

He didn't yelp of anything...and he is walking around like everything is fine..as soon as my dad gets home I will tell him he needs to go.

You need to take him to the vet. They may have to to remove them if he keeps having problems with this.

Hello welcome to this site and to your family.Don't be afraid if u r so much worried then take him to doctor it will best he will get the proper treatment and he will be well very soon

If you can't stop the bleeding why would wait for others to decide to bring him to to the vet? Hope he's just fine and nothing more serious about his injury, please give us an update soon.
