Default Newbie with questions?

Hi everyone, brand new to the site. I have a 4 year old purebread yellow lab and lately his rear end just reeks. I wash and bath but within a couple of days his rear stinks again. Help!

Also, he is a bit of a shedder even though we brush frequently. I use my shop vac to clean up the fur but I continue to destroy the filters and replacing the filters is getting expensive. Any thoughts on what I can do, are there any products that may save my filters?

Welcome! What do you feed your dog? Diet plays a BIG BIG BIG part in shedding as well as body/breath odors. There is a very good chance that your dogs "rear end" smell is coming from his anal glands, in which case you need to call you vet for an appointment. Another good option would be to take your dog to a GOOD groomer (not a chain store) for a full grooming including anal glands.

It is defiantly an anal gland problem. You need to take him to the vet before it gets infected. I had a client with the same problem. They waited to long before bringing her in and it became a serious problem.

A vet visit is necessary. Food he take and some health issues like in stomach and bladder might be the cause.
