will fertilizer hurt my dog? I have a fivemonth old teacup pom. I have had her since she was 4 weeks old. Normal behavior is VERY VERY active. We got a new puppy that is four month old mini schnauzer. He has been here for five days. Today my pom started throwning up and wont even chase the mail man. We just had our yard fertilized, since she was throwing up grass I assume that she ate some. what do I do. I have an apt. on friday afternoon. The vet seems to think that she doesnt like her new brother. Since she dont like my kids or husband.

YES, fertilizer is poisonous! There is a reason that lawncare companies usually put little flags in the yard that say "don't let your dog walk in the grass--just sprayed" the stuff can be absorbed into the pads of their feet and poison them. Your dog is very sick and needs attention NOW...not on Friday.

How a vet could be so unconcerned about a dog that is showing signs of poisoning is unconscenable!
