Hi everyone, just checking in with the regular denizens and other newbies!
I'm thrilled to announce that I'm now the proud mama of a 3-month old Maltese puppy.

I got her about two weeks ago, and she has been a joy in my life!
Here is a photo of her taken by her breeder at about 8 weeks, and yes, that IS a standard 10-ounce coffee mug! That little hank of hair hanging down in her right eye is a dead giveaway-- no doubt that's MY pup and not a litter mate!
She's now too big to fit into a coffee mug, but she's still tiny. Both of her parents are under 5 pounds, so she's going to be a smaller than usual Maltese (they generally run about 7 pounds).
And happily, I was a certified groomer back thirty-something years ago (a job I loved but had to quit because of the problems back then with flea control, the chemicals used for that, and the chemicals used for disinfecting the kennels and work tables), and I worked with several show-coat Maltese there, so I know what I'm getting into. There will be no nasty surprises there! Though you can't tell from that picture, her ears are ivory, so that should be a very striking combination when her coat grows out.
Her registration name is Lady Guinevere, but her personal name is "Button", as in, "Cute as a...". One of my friends came up with her personal name, and it seemed to fit, as "Lady Guinevere" is just too classy a name for such a little clown!
Nice to meet you!
