Default Hello

I am new to this forum. I checked it out some as a guest and there seems to be a lot of knowledge floating around. Knowledge that can be useful. I have had dogs all my life.

At the present moment, I have a 9 yr old Chihuahua ( Gizzy) and a 2 1/2 yr old full blooded Siberian Husky (Timber ).

Gizzy we have had for three years. She was with an elderly woman who fell ill and the help abused her. She is just a good girl minus the barking when people show up.

Timber we have had for a month. Another one we took in as he was underfed and used as a racing sled dog. He put on weight and the vets are now very happy. He is excellent but needs alot of time in training. he learned to walk on a leash without pulling in just under a week. He does have a backpack for walks so he has a job to do.

I will post in another section of this forum about him. I have trained some dogs before, but he has an issue that is hard to break. will find the right place to post that issue.

Just wanted to tell you about us

Hi, I'm new here too and I also have a chihuahua "Little Shannon". She's 3 years old and your typical yappy chi.

I am enjoying this forum alot. probably too much as it is the third thing I do in the mornings. lol. first is to walk the dogs and then feed them. then this forum. so I am a nut who loves to learn things about dogs.

thank you for the warm welcome.

Welcome Timber& gizzy. My in-law family has 2 Huskies.Since I am new dog's mom and, I am accustomed to see Corgi size dog,so when we visit them, I feel they are quite big to my eyes.I know Greatdane is bigger than Huskies, but still. But they have nice temperament and like them a lot. I came back home teaching Ivan(One of their Huskies) to "Down" and "Sit":-P My niece was like "Wow".

I understand how addictive this forum can be. it is always fun to read stuff on dogs, and learn things on them. I too like reading on dogs and learn more on them.
