Default Hi from a First time Dog Owner!!

Hello, My name is Olivia, I just recently adopted my first puppy/dog. My mother was always a cat person and well I just knew I needed a dog in my life and finally that dream has come true. I'm 26 and my puppy Harley is 13weeks old, He's just a mutt but he's my mutt, German Shepard mixed with something we think a Lab.

Here's a picture of my boy.

Any idea's as to what he is?

Anyway glad to be a part of this forum even though I am a newfound Dog Lover. Ps: I have two human children also both boys so I hope I'm raising some more dog lovers in the process!! haha

HI,Olivia. I am a new dog parent as well.My mother had scary experience with dog when she was a kid and,we never had a dog. After we moved in to our home,my husband and I decided to have a dog so,here she is.My dog is tailess dog:Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Since she is my first dog,I had lots of things to learn about the dogs. I love dogs, and I jog/walk everyday if not rainy. We play a lot and I train my dog daily(5 min schooling time). You have cute puppies! I cannot tell what breed in them, but both look cute!! While the dogs are younger,it is wise for you to teach them to be ok with handling around mouth or paws (good for blushing teeth and nail clipping).I touched those places as much as I can and gave her lots of treats. Now,she is 3 years old and she does not care where I touch and she stays laying on her side, yawning.
Yassy,

What an adorable pup! And shepherd-Lab sounds like a great mix. Both breeds are intelligent and loyal to a fault. And most Labs have a very laid-back temperment that frequently translates over to Lab blends with other breeds, even more agressive ones.

I'm pretty sure the "black" side of Harley's family is Lab. The black smooth coat with the white star on his chest (and sometimes the bottom lip and tips of paws) is pretty common in the breed. A Lab-chow mix I had up till a few years ago had exactly the same markings.

That's a great pup!

Thanks everyone for your comments and welcomes!! I will def. take the advice I've read above from all, or at least research it all, I'm already extremely happy with this forum as myself being a new Dog Mother I have Loads of Questions and so Far I've been able to find Advice and Answers for almost everyone I've had concerns about.

Yes I've been watching Dogs 101 lately and both the German Shepard and Lab seem like wonderful pets, Loyal and Caring for their families. I'll post more pictures as he get's older and we can all guess some more on what he is! hehe

again thank you for your welcomes!
