Question Tuna the Pom loosing hair....Help !!

Hi my 3 year old Pom, which we`ve only had for less than a year started loosing his fur last fall.It has fallen out aroung the neck & chest area as well as the hind end near his tall back up as far as his mid section. It just seems to be the undercoat that has fallen out.The skin has turned from pink to a dark leathery look.
The vet has done blood work for thyroid, adrenial gland funtion, hypoglycemia, everything has come back normal. We changed his diet to food that was a natural based recipe as well as adding in omega fats to help with the skin & coat.He is pretty active, enjoying walks etc, chasing his toys, but we are very puzzeled. There has been several occasions lately that he will sit in his bed & just start shaking for no apparent reason at all .

Wow. I'm sorry to hear about your pup! I don't have any suggestions (I wish I did!)It sounds like they've checked every thing I would have guessed (allergies or food). I really hope Tuna feels better soon!

I would try a different vet, maybe get the pup's file's transferred so you won't have to redo the test's.. If you are feeding a good food there has to be a reason for this.

Please let us know how thing's are going.... I hope you can find answer's soon...

Did your vet check for homone imbalance?
Sorry to hear your having problems. This does sound like food issues/allergies to me though. What food are you feeding?

Poor dog, so sorry to hear that. Hope it's not like thyroid imbalance that causes excessive shedding, if you are not satisfied with the results, better seek another vet advice.
