Default Hello Everybody

I've just recently rescued a dog from a "bad" home so thought I'd join a forum to discuss ideas and to get tips from some of you more experienced dog handlers.

When I was a boy I had a dog (A Patterdale Terrier) for 13 years his name was Shadow. When he died I said I'd never keep another dog. This is him below..

So he died 4 years ago. I had no plans to get another dog but then I saw a dog living in awful conditions so I took her on and she's been with me the last few days. She's around 11-12 months but I have no idea what breed she is. (I have posted in the ID my dog thread). This is Brandy my new girl

She looks a little like my old dog, but shes much bigger and has white socks!

I also have a cat and keep a lot of fish (tropicals and coldwater). I enjoy travelling, playing poker, socialising (bars/pubs).

I look forward to getting to know other dog lovers on this forum.

Welcome and congratulations to you! She seemed to be a doppelganger of your late Shadow. I see pitt in her, beautiful girl.

Smile Welcome!

I didn't post before--I'm not the best at guessing--was waiting to see what others had to say to see if my guess might be on target--and it is as I agree with the pitbull and the lab mix also.

Hope you like this forum! We have a very good variety of "experts" on almost every subject to do with dogs. To me it seems like a lot are rescuers--so you will find a lot of members with experience on that--and the rescued dogs usually have a lot of problems in the beginning because of the trauma they have had in their lives. And we have trainers, groomers,--you name it! I am no expert on anything but I love dogs so much, I want to help them all I can as do a lot of other members. I do have a lot of books on dogs--esp. to do with health and nutrition--which is what my main concern is. But I also have a good home vet book that I quote from quite a bit. See you around.:-D
