Relevant.
Hello everyone! I'm also new to this site and am looking forward to getting involved in a dependable canine community!
I'm the mother of an eight week old German Shepherd (VERY new puppy!) and a house rabbit that will NOT be litter trained!
My German Shepherd, Diedrick, is still being housebroken. So I would love any tips you might have with working with a puppy so young. Right now his training is going at an average pace, so I really can't complain. =)

Yes, welcome to this fun forum! I saw your pictures too - your Diedrick has an adorable face...
I'm sure at this early stage, you're doing the usual 'praise like crazy' when he does his business outside, and quickly get him out if you catch him doing it inside...
I was lucky that my dog, at 10 weeks old, was just about housebroken when I got him - only a few mistakes when I first brought him to a new area (like my office!!)
Again, welcome!

Adorable furbaby. Welcome to the board mate. For long term training, you can make good routine for you and your dog, like specific time to eat, potty break, exercise, rest, etc.

Awww, you're lucky indeed! Unfortunately the breeders I got him from kept the puppies outside so there was no need for housetraining, so we're starting from square one. =/
But you better believe there's a lot of praising going on, haha. Though he's so young I think he still has trouble associating the phrases with the actions. But we're definitely getting there. So far he knows "outside" and "inside", and I think he's (probably maybe possible) getting the hang of "go pee" and "come".
And of course he sure knows "No!" and "Bad!".
He's teething right now, so he hears those a lot!

Thank you very much. =)
I think we have a pretty good routine going, the problem is he doesn't seem to grasp that I don't enjoy his urine in the house and usually lets loose /on the way outside/. Haha. We're getting there.
Thanks again. =)

Hi and welcome to the forum. Lots of praise and treats when house breaking one. He is still very young and has a very small bladder so try to take him out every 30 mins to pee.At that age they pee alot and will still pee in the floor. But when it happens pick him up and tell him no and then take him outside. He is still young and sometime when they are that young they don't realize that they are surpose to go outside. I never start potting training mine until they between 9 to 10 weeks old.
