HI!
Welcome to our great forum! Handsome dog! I have been alerting everyone that has a German Shepherd/German Shepherd mix to go read a post I did on the problem that this breed has on getting nutrition. Maybe you already know this but if not, wish you would read my post. Just click on my name to go to my profile page--click statistics--click all THREADS by (me) and find the one titled: German Shepherds-Nutrition--click. Hope you know this info.
I really think that German Shepherds die sooner than they should because of this problem with not getting the nutrition out of their food that they need to stay healthy--Good immune system is the key to a healthier, longer, happier life! The German Shepherd needs 'extra' attention to keep this working for them.
Yeh, moving day is big undertaking--Are you getting pretty much settled in? If I remember right, you are in the midwest--me too--Wisconsin.--By any chance you are here too! (Wisconsin)

To all - thanks for the welcome! I've been on other forums where people ask you to click their dragons. Since we're not into that, Poca requests that you click and send her hotdogs - as many and as often as you can.

We're actually across the pond, still neighbors of a sort - just lots of water in between! RE GSDs & diet - we've been through the ringer with Poca and her diet. In CA, she was sick half the time (bloody diarrhea, mucous, vomiting, giardia, etc.). Cleared up pretty much when we moved back here. The vet thinks she was picking up parasites &/or contaminants from the local wetlands & beach, where we walked every day. So over the course of 3 years I think I've looked into and/or tried most every diet possibility except raw - just not going there. Thanks for the heads up - I'll check it out to see if there's something I've missed.

Thanks, Wishbone. Poca is the name my niece used for their family dog years ago. She couldn't pronounce the dog's real name so it came out as Poca. I liked it so I named our dog that.
She's 3, a husky/shepherd/??? don't know what else mix. Cautious, full of fun, loves loves other dogs, is not so crazy about strangers, and makes the best grumbling/booing sounds in the world (made it my ringtone on my cell for a while - would get the funniest looks from people!). She's the sweetest dog in the world. When she's sleeping, not so much. Then she pulls out the biggest stink eye you've ever seen. Prob. looks a lot like my own when someone wakes me up . Not much else to tell except we adore her and consider her our WIP - work in process.
