Introducing Jackson and Murphy
Hi all
I would like to introduce you to my two dogs - Jackson and Murphy.
I have had Jackson since he was 8 weeks old - he is now 21 months old. He is quarter siberian husky, quarter malamute, quarter staffie and quarter Jack Russell - hows that for a cross! He is white with JR type markings on his ears and tail, with husky ears and staffie shoulders which makes him very strong! But he is also as soft as a brush and would never intentionally hurt anyone. He is also quite headstrong and has the usual husky trait of going off where he wants to go when he is off the lead!!
We adopted Murphy one month ago from the RSPCA - he is a border collie
cross, and is black and white - we think he is about the same age as Jack. He has settled in really well and loves to play tug of war with Jack. When we go a walk he runs in mad circles continually trying to round us up! We have no problem with his recall. The only real problem we have with him is that he nips at other dogs legs when they are running - sometimes sharp enough to draw blood!
The two dogs live with me and my daughter who is 14 and my son who is 11 - we all get on really well - most of the time!!! We also have two cats (who have lived upstairs since Jack arrived!) and a guinea pig.
Thats all for now folks!!

Welcome to you and your pets. I hope Murphy learns to be on his best behavior and stop chewing on everyone's legs!

How would you like to stop all the problems with your pet? I have some good new but it will take some time on your part. Obedience training will bring out the best in your pet.

Hi and welcome to ILD mate. Your Jackson was so interesting to see, did you have a chance to see his parents?
As for Murphy, does he do that leg nipping with other dog or just to Jackson? Do you think Jackson hurt when he bite? If not I think it is more on playing but you have to supervise and interrupt when it's going to hurt for Jackson...

Welcome to you and your canine family! I was lucky with my cat. She grew up with Bailey, my 12 year old Border Collie. I've also done a lot of fostering over the years so, not much fazes her. When my little shorty jack russell came along, she told her "who ran the roost in no uncertain terms"!!!) Everyone gets along fine - we all even sleep together! I hope your cats get used to the new addition. A friend of mine who is the mother to five cats told me, "Never underestimate the ability of a cat to hold a grudge"!!!
