Default Meet Simon, Alvin's bro

I'm not a new member, but I do have a new pup - Simon, an 8-week old Cockapoo. Don't know when Theodore will join the family.

How would you like to stop all the problems with your pet? I have some good new but it will take some time on your part. Obedience training will bring out the best in your pet.

I wished I had Secrets to Dog Training before I got a puppy. I would have done a lot of things differently and avoided a lot of issues. There's background info to address why something is happening and the best method to address overcome behavior problems like biting, chewing, and jumping.

Case in point - my 6-month old pup is a small (15 pounds) and likes to jump on people. If I had addressed this behavior from the beginning using the suggestions in Secrets to Dog Training, the jumping behavior could have been stopped much earlier.

There is one important lesson that I have learned and that involves multiple family members. If you're all not on the same page when it comes to training, it makes it very very difficult to train at all. For example, the family member who complains the most about begging at meal time fed the 6-month old pup scraps from the table tonite. Some people never learn. Not only is the pup standing next to this family member during the entire meal, but he vocalizes his displeasure when the food doesn't come fast enough.
