The story behind My Sammie
Hi im new to this forum. Here is a picture of my little buddy, truth is i stole him from my dads neighbor after helping my dad around the house for a couple of months. My little buddy would run to me every day i got there and when i left he would chase me out of the neighborhood. He was so coverd in fleas he couldn't enjoy a good petting and i pulled countless tics off him big and small. After a few weeks i couldn't stop thinking about him and how he was just to sweet to go though life like that.Againest my husbands wishes i went over there and picked him up took him to the cleaners and brought him to our very loving home.Sammie is my pride and joy,and very spoiled now,I love him so much!

I know, I am a big worrier! BUT I love dogs and want to see them be as healthy as they can! After a few weeks i couldn't stop thinking about him and how he was just to sweet to go though life like that.Againest my husbands wishes i went over there and picked him up took him to the cleaners and brought him to our very loving home.Sammie is my pride and joy,and very spoiled now,I love him so much!

Welcome to the forum--my favorite place!
---Sounds like you 'rescued' that sweet loving boy at the right time. From the sounds of all that infestation--esp. the ticks--I'd keep an eye out for any signs of something wrong--even a slight sign of not feeling right---Worry about Lyme's disease and other diseases that can be caused by a tick--and there are quite a few dif. diseases!! This could take some time before it/they would show up and as far as Lyme's--It may be hard to tell--maybe just some limping? And if you saw any signs for concern and you took him to the vet to be tested for Lyme's--It is also hard to get a diagnosis and many times you need a repeat of this test to have it come up positive! You might want to put Tick bites/dogs in your browser to see all the symptoms, etc.--Might also try Tick borne diseases/dogs--You get the idea.
I saw your 3 pics on your profile page--He is a darling! Do you have any ideas as to what breeds he may have? How old do you think he is? And how much does he weigh-------Questions to help decide what his 'make-up' is! I am esp. curious about what he weighs! There is something about him that reminds me of a dog I've seen before so am really curious as to what kind he is! Lol, you are prob. very curious too! There are quite a few good guessers on this forum! Maybe some will have a good answer! But you may have to put a post in asking about this---In dif. section in this forum. (to get their attention) Give that little guy a big hug for me and tell him how lucky he is to have, lol, 'chased you down until you caught him.' ENJOY EACH OTHER!
