New to Forum
Hello, I follow this site on twitter and thought it would be a good idea to check out the forum. My name is Felicia and I live in MI. My dog or as I call her, my baby is named Meka. I have had since she was 10 1/2 weeks old. She is now 1 year and 8 months old. She is the love of my life. She is a Havanese/Minature Poodle mix. She's about 10 pounds and a little diva sometimes. She is extremely smart, loves people and other dogs. She is spoiled which is totally my fault. I have to bribe her with ham to get out in the morning to work since she barks when I leave without her. If I could I would have her in daycare every day but since I can't do that, she stays in a playpen while I am at work. Here's a few pix.

Hi!
You have a very cute baby--I like the way you 'do her hair!' I see she gets tear stains (the one pic in particular) You can find out info on this in here--Go to the forum called dog health and nutrition in here and find thread entitled Help with tear stains and another thread in the Dog grooming forum entitled Red tears. Both are on the 1st page of their forums. Lot of info there!
---A little 10# dog should not get too much salt--The ham is full of salt! You might want to check out in the dog Health and Nutrition--the thread: Foods that are hazardous to a dog.--In the dog health and nutrition forum--page 4. There is info on the salt there too. Bet you will find at least 1 or 2 things you didn't know about---I still keep finding new ones quite often!
Don't mean to sound 'overbearing' I love dogs and am very cautious of things that might do them harm! Aren't dogs just wonderful!

She's so adorable, I might spoiled her too if I have her. Very well said Corky/Max, maybe you could get more healthier treats to lure Meka..

Hi Proud momma to 2 Furbabie dogs and 2 Cats
Hi I just got a new Puppy about a month ago I already have a Pit Bull or as some would say an American Staffordshire Terrier, or Bully as some might say, but he is hardly that he loves my cats and will allow them to sleep in his crate with him.My Puppy is a Chow Chow/ Boarder Collie mix, and she is as smart as can be, in less than a week she has learned sit, down and stay.Bella is 3 months and 2 weeks old.
Now the reason I am here is this looks like a great group, but the other reason is we have to go out of town tomorrow, my son is going to stop in 2x tomorrow and a while on Sunday, since he is going to do laundry over here, Bella is used to us being here most of the time and when I have to go out for a bit I leave her in my Bedroom which although baby proofed (I will be doing more today), does this sound like enough to keep her from being bored or lonely and how do I let her know that we will be coming back? I don't want her depressed.

Wow, thanks for the welcomes and thanks for the tips on staining. It hasn't gotten worse as she gets older and that pix was taken in July. I lover her so much. I went away for the holiday and she is at the PetSmart hotel. They closed today at six and flight got in too late for me to get her today. I miss her.
Gosh thanks for the info on the ham. I wasn't thinking it could be harmful. I have to remember she is a little thing. Maybe I should go back to putting peanut butter in her kong.
Thank you for the info, I want her to live a long, healthy life.

Thanks for directing me to the entries on tear staining. I now give Meka bottled ewater instead of tap and it has improved the tearing
