Default What flea/tick treatment do you use? Spinoff of what do you

My dogs are out of flea and tick treatments as of last month. So we need somthing to put on them this month. We have no reason to take them to the vet but we will in a few months (the vet is far, its takes lots of planning and Dh has to be late for work, etc).

We use Front line but we are out. What kind do you use? where do you get it and how can I get some (just for the next couple of months until they go back to the vet). I was going to ask the vet tech on here but maybe this will answer my question.

I use Revolution. I purchase it once a year - one package for each dog which contains six months worth from their vet.

I recommend Revolution too, together with Frontline, they are the best out there

I use Front line. I get it from the vet, but some order it online or get it from pet stores. I've heard though, that you have to be careful when buying it from anywhere but the vet because you might not get the real thing!

Default flees and ticks

i use frontline on my dogs, as a prevention and i have never had any problems

but to get rid of things....
flees.
do not get them wet, they release a grease bubble which protects them from drowning, so when you come to shampoo, forstly put some neat shampoo aroung the ears and face so stop any running that way then rub the neat shampoo into the dog before you add any water. then leave for the alloted time.

ticks
i use a o'tom tick twister, you just hook the tick on and twist. dont put anything on the tick at this point. as it will expul it stomach and cause lymes diesase. there is many old wives tails like putting alcohol on them etc. dont.

flees in your house
there are many chemical ways, making sure you get your house warm to hatch any eggs and spraying/sprinkaling around radiators, beds settees.
or the old fashioned way by putting a light bulb over a bowl of water, the flees jump towards the warm light and fall into the water. it goes without saying be very careful with the light! but you are ment to move it around the room

Advantix is a good alternative. It kills and repels fleas, and ticks. I use it on my dogs and they're all flea and tick free.
