I'm from the UK and have three dogs, a Staffie, a Patterdale and a Jack Russell. I love them all but I have to say there is something special about the relationship between me and my JR. My Staffie is very people centered, she can be a bit funny with other dogs in the house, very submissive but "prickly" but she just thrives on human attention and loves to be spoken to and will "talk back" in deep growly voice. Lovely girl. My Patt is very independent. The world outside is far more interesting than the home. She loves men (any sort of male) and so will only obey me grudgingly - the moment my son or husband or father appears she goes all coy and cute - a total flirt LOL. Then my JR - the love of my life. As far as show quality goes he is about as bad as it gets - his hair is far too long and silky and his black patches have turned grey where the white hair has come through but I love him. He is very well mannered with other dogs but isn't too keen on people who aren't me. He is ALWAYS by my side, always follows me everywhere - if I leave the house he waits in my arm chair, if I go to the bathroom he sits on the stairs and waits and we just love each other.
We also have two rabbits which the dogs are waaaay too interested in but they live in the front garden and utility room so they are well away from the dogs and safe enough
