Talking 'Ello there!

Hey everyone!

I'm a new girl to the site. I have a purebred miniature Border Collie (15 inches!) and she is a verry pretty girl. No, really! Her name is Wispa and she's 15 months old.

That is her dork face, She can be pretty, at times.

That's her relaxing on a table, shows her size I think!

And that is her with her namesake, loads of Wispa choccie bars!

Lovley to be here looking forward to looking around.

Thumbs down Welcome to the forum!

Please tell me that the chocolate candy bars are never given to your dog to eat!!!! Chocolate is poison to dogs!!! Put Hazardous foods in the search box----Find the blue strip near top of pages in this forum--goes across the page--Find the word search--click it and put hazardous foods in the field and leave selection on threads. You will find a thread titled: Foods that are Hazardous to your Dog. This will tell you about chocolate and many other things that are bad (some deadly) for your dog. And I bet you will find many you never would of thought about!!

Pretty dog! Please be aware of what foods, etc. can harm or kill it!!

Thank you for the information, but I was already aware. I put a lot of time looking into dogs before we got Wispa (Been reasearching since I was nine, although I've been interested in dogs for as long as I can remember). The choccie bars in the picture are just for a novelty image, "Wispa with Wispas" Ect. She knew she wasn't allowed to eat them, as you can see she is focosed on me taking the picture rather then the choccie bars.

We get her dog choccie drops, ect. and I moniter the foods she eats. I allways make sure I reasearch a food before I give it to her (No grapes or chocolate, but she gets carrots and rice for example) due to her having a sensitive stomouch.

She also does Flyball so it's important for me to keep her tip-top. x3

Thank you though! It's great to see people spreading the word. I did some work experiance in a vets office during Easter and it's kinda suprising how many people aren't sensible enough to not give their dogs chocolate.

I think you may have replied to the wrong post, but I will answer anyway. x)

A double coated dog is a dog with an undercoat as well as their outercoat. The undercoat is thick and keeps them insiliated against cold and hot weather. Dogs with an undercoat often blow their coat (lose a lot of their undercoat) of have to have it blown for them.

Basically dogs with double coats shed alloooot, you can normally find out by how much your dofg sheds or if it is purebred what breed it is. Dogs like GSDs and malamutes have undercoats (even if it's a shortcoated GSD, you'd be suprised how much hair you can get out of them with an undercoat rake!)

I spent a bit of time at a groomers, and ohmygod, when the used the blaster (powerful air hose) on him, when he was still dry, the hair flew out everywhere. An asthmatic's nightmare.

Welcome WispaLoudly and to your beautiful dog Wispa, she's stunning. She looks so smart and very well-behaved in the last pic.
