Hi everyone! if you have time check out StarPups Home
I checked out your site--nice looking site But I don't agree with some of the ingredients you use! I feed my 2 dogs a raw food diet and some home-cooking too so I know what NOT to feed them. Corn/cornmeal is not a good grain for dogs---too hard to digest for one thing! (Maybe you could use oatmeal or wheat instead?---although most dogs are better off w/o grains as a rule but I realize there would be no biscuit or cookie treats w/o the grains/flour!) Apples should not be fed with other things as they digest faster and thus sit in the stomach and ferment/rot while the slower other things are being digested. Not healthy!!
Baby food is not good (too much for sure) and salt is a bad poisonous thing if given too much--Dogs only need a 'smidgen' of salt. Broths have a lot of salt--even in the low sodium varieties. If you feed a home-cooked diet, the dog is prob. getting more than enough salt/sodium if you give for example--cottage cheese (any cheese) or salmon (canned of course--You never feed raw salmon!!)---You have to check labels for salt/sodium content as this is surprising what you will find sometimes! Some spices are not safe either such as nutmeg--Can cause convulsions, tremors, even death if enough given! (I don't see nutmeg in your recipes (yet) so please keep that one in mind for further references.) I did a long thread in this forum titled:Foods that are hazardous to a dog. I am going to go find it and paste the link here. I hope you will read it as I am sure you will see a lot of info you had no idea of--I learned a lot while I was gathering all the info! Be sure to find the whys on the salt, nutmeg, (Cinnamon by the way is good for your dog) baby food, etc. Hope you study the very long list as some of this info could save your dog's life!! And I love dogs!!
