New To Site - Bo
Hey everyone! Glad to be here. My girlfriend and I adopted a puppy about 5 1/2 months ago (Bo) and we are excited to be on a forum that is dedicated to dog owners like us. Here are a few pics of Bo. He appears to be a golden retriever/shepherd mix but we aren't too sure. Perhaps someone here can help us out. He is almost 6 months old and about 45lbs and he has been a great companion.

Welcome to the forum. Bo is adorable. I see the golden but, not so much the shepherd.

Welcome to the forum!
Some 'hints' that I see have to do with the coat and tail.
The thing is--is that the way the coat is going to stay when it is an adult! If it stays this way--to me it is the only thing that reminds me of possibly some German Shepherd.(the texture and length)----or even the coat of a Golden Lab and possibly the tail of a Golden Lab. If the coat gets longer and starts having feathering (waves so to speak)--then I would be pretty sure there was some Golden Retriever in the mix and the face looks Golden Retriever. The tail of a Lab is described in my breeds book as: an 'otter' tail, is thick at the base, round and tapered. Also on the Lab descriptions: THe coat is dense and waterproof with NO FEATHERING. Golden Retriever descriptions: Graceful and elegant--The lustrous coat is any shade of gold or cream with the hair lying flat or gently waved around the neck, shoulders and hips. There is abundant feathering. But I know coats can change as they get older--Will be interesting to see what your dog looks like as an adult!! Keep us posted as it grows and with pics!
Note: I have a Golden Retriever/cocker mix.

Sounds like he's very active and playful pup, he's face, body build and coat shows greater golden lab in him..

Thanks to all so far for the welcome and the advice. The only reason we thought shepherd was his mouth was darker at the tip and because of his ears. They flop over like lab ears but they are slightly pointier so to speak. Anyway, he's been fun and we look forward to many good years with him. He's definitely a good one.
