Border collies are great dogs, aren't they?! Our family has almost always kept border collies starting with my grandfather (at least) who used them, of course, for herding sheep! My uncle has my grandfather's farm now -- and a border collie, but no sheep. The dog has to make himself content herding the geese.

Default Lyric

I have a new Border Collie puppy named Lyric. She is 10 weeks old today. I was able to potty train her in one day by using a bell on the sliding glass door. I now want to teach her to walk on a leash but she absolutely HATES the collar and leash. Any ideas you can give me for making this process a bit easier would be appreciated.

You could elect to try a harness and leash in place of collar and leash. Some dogs take to this easier and less strain on the neck, especially in puppies.
