hello to all
from Central Alberta. I look forward to sharing photos and information. I have 3 Italian Greyhounds and 1 poodle/shih tzu cross. I have already met one Iggy (short for Italian Greyhound) owner. Are there any others?

Hello and welcome to the forum! Although I don't have one (I have a 3 year old lab/pit mix named Lucky) I love greyhounds! Glad to have you!

Hello and welcome. I used to have an IG named Deisel. He looked just like Yogi's Bella. I'll see if I can find pics of him later. I have 3 saint bernards now. Big change from having a chi and an IG. Much less bed room.

Hello todd,
Your family of fur children sounds awesome, I look forward to hearing all about them and how you fit them into your home.
Love to see your pictures of your dogs.
I don't own a greyhound but I have worked with them when I was a vet nurse and I honestly think they are awesome dogs.
All the best from mel

I think it is funny when Charlie and Bella start chasing each other around the yard. Several of the Miniature Pinschers will get in on the act and I can assure you they are not slow, but as soon as they start to close on the IG's, Charlie and Bella hit 6th gear and they are gone......leaving the Pins in their dust.

My Smokey the youngest of the 3 IG can run like the wind. He really enjoys chasing his ball and is happier the farther it is thrown. What is really funny - a real belly splitter - is watching my shih tzu cross trying to catch Smokey on the dead run. I thought my Pepper would never be able to keep up but I was wrong. That short legged little guy can really bugey when he has to. Then Smokey forgets about his ball and starts playing tag with Pepper. Soon it turns into "let's run over Pepper and see what happens"!!. When that game starts Pepper automatically lays down before Smokey gets to him. Pepper then spends a lot of time laying in the grass until Smokey decides he wants his ball again.
As for the other 2 IGs they just came in December from rescue so I have no idea what they can do although I think they will be so happy to go out for a good run. We did "borrow" time at our neighbors riding arena for a couple of hours just to let all 4 have a good run. They enjoyed it but the dust from the sand in the arena gave them all coughs so we never did that again. I do the "running around the house like an idiot" with the dogs chasing me so all 5 of us get some sort of excercise. I think the neighbors think I am crazy.
