Hello from Kansas
Hi Everyone,
Found this site because I'm trying to figure out what kind of puppies I have and basically like reading about dogs.
I have a 14 yr. old Boston Terrier with some health issues and 2 - 6 months old puppies.
Just thought I'd say hello.

Welcome to the forum!
Think you may be right about the pups being part minipin--just looked at your album. The one sure has big ears! My 2 dogs have heart disease also. What kind of heart disease does your Boston have? Mine have Dilated Cardiomyopathy.
I also like to garden. Hope you like this forum.

thanks everyone.
I would have to look up my dog's exact heart disease. It's enlarged with some fluid. But since we started him on his medications, he does so much better. sorry to hear of your two. hope they are doing well.
I will post a "what kind of dog is this" hopefully tomorrow if I get a chance, maybe some of you can help me figure out what breeds these puppies might be.
at least I know now they are not Boston Terrier/Chihuahua's. LOL.

But since we started him on his medications, he does so much better. sorry to hear of your two. hope they are doing well. That is what is happening with my 2--enlarged and fluid around it. Corky's is really bad --graded a 15 with a grade of 10-10 and a half being normal size. What meds is your dog on? Corky is on furosemide and enalapril. Max's heart is just starting to enlarge--grade 10 and a half to three quarters--barely noticeable yet on the x-ray done.--Just have to keep him low salt--no meds so far! Won't go into too much more detail--I did a few posts in here on Corky about this and also some info on the condition/disease-Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Will give the description of this from paperwork I was handed at vet's: It is degeneration of the heart muscle. As a result of this degeneration, the muscle becomes thinner, particularly the thick muscle wall of the left ventricle. The pressure of the blood inside the heart causes these thin walls to stretch resulting in a much larger heart. This is DCM--dilated cardiomyopathy
Corky is doing much better (but still not the best)sinse going on the meds too. Been on them about a month and have to go to vet tomorrow to check blood/electrolytes because of possible side effects with the meds. He sure is drinking a lot of water because of the meds--Which is important-that he doesn't get dehydrated which the meds could cause to happen.
I will post a "what kind of dog is this" hopefully tomorrow if I get a chance, maybe some of you can help me figure out what breeds these puppies might be.I saw the pics and I also believe there could be some minipin there. When Yogi sees this and checks them out-- I'm sure he will know as he has a lot of minipins and is pretty much an expert on this breed as he has had them for many years!
at least I know now they are not Boston Terrier/Chihuahua's. LOL.

I am almost afraid to ask what the name of the med is for the arthritis! I hope it is not rimadyl!? How long has your Boston been on the med? Am giving you a couple links in case this is rimadyl! Here is one link:
The Senior Dogs Project
Please Do not Give Rimadyl (carprofen)--CAN KILL
