Default Brand Spankin New :)

Hello everyone I'm Sarah, I use smileys way too much =P and our new puppy has yet to be named. We're waiting for his personality to come out first (though he looks like a Buster, so that might stick). My husband and I are new dog owners, though we've both lived with dogs before (his parents had all indoor dogs in the city, mine had all outdoor dogs on a farm). Our puppy is a mix, and we're unsure of what exactly. Though thru the help of people on this site, we know he has cattle dog in him for sure. He's 4 months old and for sake of retyping, I'll copy paste how he came to us from my post in another thread:

My husband and I just recently adopted a new puppy from our local shelter. He was dropped off along with his two brothers to the shelter in February of this year. We were originally interested in a boxer puppy we spotted, and spent two days in and out of the shelter waiting for hte first hold on her to get back to the office with weither or not they still wanted her. We had noticed the three puppies the day we went in to see about hte boxer, but there was sign saying they were waiting to be picked up. They were romping and playing with each other and seemed very happy, I was glad they were all going together However, upon finding out the boxer we were interested in was adopted out to her first hold, we continued to walk thru the shelter and look for another dog. We spotted the puppy by himself and asked what he was doing there alone. Apparently a family came in, and thought he was too shy, and that his "knowledge bump" wasn't very cute at all, and took his brothers and left him by himself at the shelter. He's depressed, you can tell. But we are hoping that we can give him enough love to feel better soon! Now....to the question. They have him labeled as a "cattle dog/collie mix" on their website, and told us he is "heeler mix" at the shelter. Obviously, it's hard to tell when an animal is dropped off exactly what breed they are. From what I can tell, he does not look like either mix they have described. But we felt terrible that he wasn't "good enough" to go with his brothers and scooped him up fast

Nah, I posted the question in the breed section. I posted the hello and story of how we got our puppy in the New Dogs On the Block section. I did say in the writing that I copy pasted our story from another thread for sake of retyping.

Wow, he got so smooth and lovely face. Best luck on your quest for his name, getting name through dog's personality is definitely the best thing..

My advice and this is 'Ceasarie' but stop feeling sorry for him he has a good home now, and by feeling sorry for him you willl continue to make him feel like a victim. But he has a great home so expect someting from him and I bet he will deliver!!!
