Looks like a bulldog to me! There are many 'varieties'--Will give you a link to a great site with lots of pics and info/description. This page is for the English Bulldog but if you go to top of the page(s) in this site and click on all breeds on the home page--will bring up more varieties!->

What many do not understand is that simply put at this age it is a pup. You did not look like yourself now when you were this age so in hindsight why would anyone use this as an example of what it will look like when it matures. The head is going to grow out a great deal by the time this pup matures and with it the head length will shrink based on the growth in width which is typical in Bulldogs.

So adorable little white guy, he's a sweetheart. I think too he's a purebred but if he has other breed, it may show up as he grow...

Hi there, it looks like there's some American bulldog in Tonka's face. We're hopefully getting an English bulldog on Friday as a friend for my Cassie and he's 1/8 bloodline American but has that stocky English build. Looks like you're a newbie like me?? My DH says he remembers seeing a TONKA bulldog on PetFinder; we've been looking for a while for a bulldog on PetFinder, found one within an hour's distance instead.

I too see American Bulldog. If you look at pics of English Bulldog pups, you will see the difference in Tonka. Look on an ethical breeders site. With English Bulldogs, their face is scrunched, a pups face does not scrunch as it gets older. They are born that way.
Unfortunately anyone can sell pups and say they are pure. Where did you get Tonka? Did you get registration/pedigree papers?
She is a cutie.

With mixed breeds, yes they will change as they get older. That's why it is so hard at times as to the mix at such a young age.
But a purebred should look like a purebred young or old. Unless it's poorly bred. Example. My GSD's look the same from when they were 12 weeks up untill now. Same with my brothers Sibes. A Boxer should look like a Boxer. A Rotti should look like a Rottie.
Did that make sence?.LOL

Yes that does make sense.. i am so use to be around mixed breeds... i volunteer at the humane society and a lot of my friends are dog lovers, but they get there dogs as the humane society too and generally the dogs there are mixed so its what i usually see.

My nephew adopted a pup last year from a Quebec puppy raid. They say he was mixed with Rottie/Golden/Husky. All you see is Rottie face/colour. He has huge paws and is tall. I keep telling my nephew I actually see Tibetin Mastiff and some Newfie. So you really can't tell at times. All you can do is love them.
