Hopefully my lucky post
(the last one just got the, must be approved by moderator note )
I was just reading though my first post here and I must appologise, as in my excitement to have made it back my post was directed to Yogi and Ree, however i neglected to introduce myself to anyone else I may not have met in the past.
My name is nat, and am the proud mummy of Kato, nearly 4 YO long coat akita. We spend most of our lives in pretty Tasmania, Australia.
Well anyhow, look forward to catching up with some old online friends, and meeting some new friends as well.

Hello. I've never seen anything like your Kato. What a beautiful dog. How does he cope with the heat? Do you have him stripped or clipped?

Hi cigwyllt, no stripping or clipping, Tassie is the coolest climate state in Australia, our winters madly cold, summers mild and whilst very dry are rarely very hot, however we do keep a cooling vest handy for him so if he does get a little too warm we pop that on, he is also allowed free roam of the house, so on warm days he can escape to the air conditioning in the house too

another post in for mod approval...........think i might end up keeping yogi and ree busy over the coming weeks.....te he he he
hi cygwyllt
we dont need to strip or clip Kato, Tassie is the coolest climate state in Aus, our winters quite cold and summers usually not as grueling as some of the other states, however, we do keep a cooling vest handy for him. He also has a free roam of the home, so he can escape to the air conditioned lounge if outside is getting a little too much.

hi cygwyllt,
Ill keep trying to post a reply until i get there, keep getting stuck in the approval for moderators loop, ill keep yogi and ree busy, they will find a million posts needing approval from me LOL
No clipping required, tassie is the coolest state in australia, our winters cold, summers not as grueling as the other states.
I do keep a cooling vest handy though just incase, and Kato has free roam of the home so can always come in to the airconditioning if the heat is bothering him.

4th time lucky perhaps, still getting caught in moderator will approve post before it shows thing (you are going to be busy yogi and ree keeping up with them.)
Hi cigwyllt, no clipping or stripping, we keep a cooling vest handy which helps out nicely on hot days, otherwise Kato has free roam of the house, so can come in to the airconditioning whenever the heat gets too much for him.
Now fingers crossed this post will post

we dont do anything with his coat, but keep a cooling vest handy for the hotter days. Kato has free roam of the house, so can always come in to the air conditioning if he needs too.
