Tippi's Mum is on a distinguished road
Default Greetings

Hello everyone! Just joined the forum today. I'm mum to a five y/o Jack Russell Terrier under the name of Tippi. Since I've had her (she was 13 1/2 weeks when we brought her home) I've learned so much about her, she and I get along so well. She passed her Gold in Obedience in 2007, she and I go to 'fun shows' and have quite a few red rosettes ( ), and we love spending time together...

She was originally my mother's dog, but sometimes fate just isn't fair. ;-) She's a very obedient little girl, and loves to perform. I think she gets a high when people clap. She was spayed in March, 2010, and hasn't been half as playful since, much to my disappointment. She never was very playful, but now she's not even interested in tennis balls (her used-to-be all time favourite), but I guess life will do what life does.

We're debating bringing another fluff ball into the house, though it's a half-hearted debate. We're torn between puppy breath, pink puppy belly and getting to know a new furball, and chewed furtniture, teething pup, puddles of pee and nightly howling.

We're connection from not-so-cold England, and can't wait to explore the site!

Hey! and Welcome!

ETA: I highly recommend 2 dogs in each home IF you can! Dogs prefer being in pairs and a good home is always helpful to a dog that doesn't have one!

Smile Welcome to the forum!

I agree pretty much with what Cassie'sPet just said.
Just want to add a couple things. If you are going to get another puppy--Don't wait too long as your other dog is getting older and will be not as 'peppy' with a new pup the longer you wait. I would also introduce the new dog before you actually decide to bring it home---Would be best to start this away from home too.

Hope you like this forum!

Hello and welcome to the forum! Glad to have you!

I agree. Pairs are great. It's best to get two dogs of the opposite sex. I have heard they often get along better. Also 5 is a great age to introduce a new pup. The dog isn't too old but they say to wait until a dog is preferably 1.5-2 years old before introducing a new pup.

So sad about her loss of interest in things, hope she could get to her high energy life again.Maybe you can try first to social her and see how she will get along with other dogs and people, there you will see if she really needed a buddy...
