hi. I put my original introduction on the wrong bit, so here goes again. My name is Margaret and I am the absolutely devoted owner of two newfoundlands, Ferdinand who is four years old and Joshua, who is two. Any more newfie owners out there?

Welcome Margaret and to your Ferdinand and Joshua, sounds like they are great buddies. What makes you to have newfies?

That is a long story, really. I have always wanted a giant breed but thought they all had a short lifespan. Then I found out that newfies live to be 12 to 14, so went into their background and character and thought: I can have a giant dog after all! Then Ferdie needed someone his own size to play with, so I bought Joshua.

You are right, they are great buddies. They won't go anywhere without each other so if I take one to the vet, I have to take them both! Nowhere did it mention that they had so much fur, though. That is hard work, but worth it!

Hello! I don't have newfies (I have a maltese...completely opposite as far as size is concerned!), but I think they're really cool. All the ones I've ever met have been so gentle.
