Sounds like maybe she needs more exercise to tire her out! Have you seen this new thread: Help with Buster May be some ideas there to use up some of that energy and calm her down.

Bring her over. Maybe her and Buster can wear each other out.

Talking Nice to meet you. I'm also a newbie too!

Hey there! I just finished reading your post about Sweetie's problem. I might be able to give you some ideas and advice. I'm an animal care specialist. I do have my vet-tech degree, but I've been grooming dogs for the last 13yrs. So I'm assuming that you are giving her frequent walks? Say that u r letting her out 4 times a day to relieve herself. Out of those 4 "outside" times, u should definately be giving her at least 2 LONG walks a day. Just by doing that, u will start to see a change in her moving in the right d irection. Your breed of dog is very loyal & handsome....but he was bred to work.
Couple questions I have 4 u...does she eat a dry premium dog food developed for large breed dogs? If not, u might want 2 consider a new food choice for large breed dogs.
Also, does there happen 2 be a local, fenced in dog park u could bring her to a couple times a week? This is another option to release tons of energy by running really fast or playing catch. This will also ease your mind because u can let her off leash without any worries from cars or worries she might slip her lead & play the "you-cant-catch-me" game. Dog parks besides being a safer enviorment for dogs, it also will allow her to get in some socialization skills with other dogs and owners.
After u have tried these couple of simple tasks, and she is still very hyper, u can look into investing into a couple of affordable products, from my own experience, helped me out.

Ok 1st. There is a a book u can buy. Not quite sure on the title, but it shows u and explains how to do a special massage technique that has been quite helpful with people who have dogs that r having some issues w/ a whole bunch of various things. This also offers u some very special bonding time with her. The book is very easy to read. Try searching "T-Touch" on the web and see what u can find.
2nd. There is a product that most pet stores carry (maybe even Walmart). Its called Comfort Zone. It closely resembles a Glade Plug in & kinda works the same way. Plug it in around the areas she likes 2 relax or sleep. Once plugged in, it will gently release pheremones and other calming agents thru the air. She won't even realize there is something new there.
Well...u can tell that I'm full blooded Italian. I can go on & on. Lol
Its time 2 start getting ready for work so I can go make some doggies beautiful. Good Luck & write back 2 me. I'm curious if u might consider my advise...BYE 4 NOW

Hi, I have been trying to walk her more lately at least two times a day. I take her with me when I go places and let her walk around, on the leash of course. I just need to keep that up going forward. We feed her Innova Large Breed dry food and ocassionally give her the wet version as well. We have a HUGE backyard. We go back and throw the frisbee around with her and run around with her. I heard of a dog park in a city nearby where I live, but unfortuntaely there is nothing in town. Thanks for all of the advice. I can't get enough advice right now. She is such a sweetheart  I will check out that plug in you were talking about. I will keep you updated on the progress. Thanks again!!!

Are you sure large breed food is right for a dobe? Dobes are high energy dogs for the most part. Are you sure he's getting the proper nutrients from feeding large breed formula? That's what I feed my saint bernards, large breed formula. Is your dog getting enough fat and protien from it?
