Smile First Puppy

Hey everyone!
I am not new to dogs, but I have never raised my own puppy. When I married my husband a little over a year ago, he had a 3 year old Boarder Collie/Blue Heeler X named Grace, and we began talking about getting another dog. I have never had a puppy of my own and he promised, sometime soon we would get one.
Just after Halloween, he came back from a fencing job at a friends ranch with the sweetest little 11 week old red heeler puppy, just for me. I admit that when he came home with Jinx (as I have named her), I was afraid she would be more his dog than mine as she had already spent two days with him. How wrong I was.
Jinx has been my private shawdow since the day she arrived. Even time spent alone in the bathroom is rare. Every morning, when I head out to feed the horses, goats and other assortment of critters, she's right with me. Now that she has lived here for a bit, she goes off to explore, but she always meets up with me before it's time to head back inside.
Even though she's nibbled on my favorite boots and can be as sassy as any three year old I know, she is a perfectly wonderful addition to our family.
