Talking Hello From Sunny Australia!!

Hello to all at I-love-dogs-forum,

My name is Bev, and yes it is a beautiful sunny day in my part of the world!!

A bit about me.
I have always had a passion for caring for dogs and have rescued many over the years who were suffering unbearable circumstances. Of course, I can't keep them all, but find many of them new families once they have been taught basic dog obedience training.

In my profile photo is a recent snapshot of our current dog - Jack - who is a male, 16 year old border collie pictured with my 12 year old daughter. We rescued him from a farmer when he was 2 years old when the farmer threatened to use Jack as shooting practice. Jack, being a herding dog, loved to chase sheep, he had never been taught the right way to herd and consequently upset the farmer too many times.

I'm glad to say things worked out brilliantly and Jack has been a wonderful family dog and a great companion and friend to my children as they have grown.

I hope to learn some new things and share on the forum.

Welcome to the site. Hope you enjoy yourself here. One note, as a man Gloria Alred is wrong.....I have been involved rescuing and raising dogs for over 50 years, long before there were rescues. I currently have 32 dogs and 5 puppies in addition to my 10 cats and 6 birds. Obviously, Gloria Alred never met me.

Red face To Yogi

I am new here and sorry that I offended you. ops: I am embarressed!
I will remove that quote immediately and look for something more appropriate. I think that the reference was more broad to "man kind" and not "men" specifically. I have no problem with men and please don't take that out of context. I have three sons and a wonderful husband and would never intentionally offend anyone.

Again please accept my appologies.

Not to worry, feel free to leave it. I did not find it offensive in fact humorous. Gloria Allred in the US is looked upon much differently than that quote. Trust me, every time she says something in the press pretty much everyone knows what she is doing and we get a good laugh out of it.
Besides, at my age, peoples opinions mean very little to me. I have seen and forgotten more than most will ever experience.

Wink Hi Yogi - Thanks for the reply

Hi Yogi,

I decided to change my signature quote to something better. See for yourself, it's true of my dog and I'm sure other forum members and dog owners everywhere can relate to it!

I can definitely relate to that one with all the rug rats I have. Someone once noticed that around noon everyday my dogs start going nuts with excessive barking. I asked if they had ever been in a diner where construction workers only had a half hour for lunch. They replied no, I explained that they are all yelling out their orders so this is what the dogs are doing.
