Hello (finally) from Newfoundland!
Hey everyone, I've been on this forum for a couple weeks now and just clued in that I should probably post in this thread and introduce myself!
(I found the forum from a post that someone had put on Twitter and registered initially to reply to a thread, now I really like it and want to stay and make friends! I've never really been involved in a forum where you actually stay and get to know people, mostly just gone on tech support forums for linux)
Either way, excuse my posting on here as a random person, my name is Louise and I am from Newfoundland Canada. I have a wonderful 10 year old black Lab cross named Raina (it's queen in Spanish) and our newest addition, Raina's little brother, Axis a 2 month old blue merle Australian shepherd/border collie cross.
(There are pictures of them in an album on my profile)
I have been interested in dogs all my life and have recently completed an intensive 3 month trainers course in Victoria British Columbia. Now I'm pursuing my passion and starting my own business as a dog trainer.
I'd like to make some friends on here and keep in touch with people. It's so nice to able to have a place just to "talk dog"!
All the best!
~Louise, Raina & Axis

Welcome to the forum!
Okay, lol, since you are officially introducing yourself--I will say hi even though 'our paths have crossed' before in here. Come to think of it I don't think I ever did post a hello post myself!
Love that pic--That puppy is so cute and looks like he has found a good friend in his sister! Hope you like this forum. I will be going now to check out your album. See you around.

Hi Louise & Reina & Axis! I'm glad you like the forum & are jumping in. I joined last August when I added my new addition. I love this place & the people in it. You learn, your share & you connect with like-hearted people who love their doggies as much as we do our own. What's not to like about that?
It'll be nice getting to know you & yours. I can't wait to hear how your stories as you start on your new adventure/business. Best wishes! & see you around the forum.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"
