Hi from Daisy, Flash and Kiyah
Hi everyone,
Obviously, We are new to the forum. Took a few days to look around and read a few posts around the forum. Figured I ought to take a few mins and introduce myself as well as my furbabies, mainly my furbabies..lol First, there is Daisy mae. She is a mini dachsaund and as my hubby liked to call her she is my perfect dog. Just to give a little background as to why he calls her that....A little over a yr ago, my dane (bruiser or who i like to call my big boy) passed away. He had only been with us for aout 3 yrs. He came to us as a pup. But he was the first dog that actually fit into this family. He was my pride and joy! Well, this house just wasnt the same with out him, let alone with out a dog. Hubby new how I am about my dogs and Bru was my heart. He said it liked to of killed me loosing him. So, he began his search for the perfect dog or me and he found daisy mae. She was 9wks old when she came to be a part of this family and she really is my perfect dog with the exeption of bru. She is tiny like me, loves to cuddle under the blankets any chance she gets. Well after a few months of having her. Hubby began his search for a buddy for Miss Daisy. He called me at work one day to ask what time i was gonna be home. And when I asked why? He answered with because we are going to get my dog. Which was a 10wk old basset hound. He said he had always wanted a basset hound named Flash! So needless to say we went and go his dog. ha ha ha! So, these to became best buds. They don't like to do much with out each other. So, as of this past wkend as a few of you have already read. We came across our newest addition Kiyah, a mixed breed, which we are still guessing what she is mixed with. We found her wondering the streets, very under weight and very skiddish. So, we brought her home, at the time we were unsure if we could keep her or not. Due to hubby's allergies, but he informed me tonight that if I make sure to keep her brushed out good (gotta love the furminator products) and bathed, as well as keep the hair cleaned up as much as possible. We will indefinitely be keeping her!!! Woohooo!!! Jumps up and down. ha ha ha So thats my story of my furbabies! Sorry its so long once I get to going. I seem to not be able to stop... hahaha I love dog forums and talking about my babies. Plus, this gives me a place to post of Kiyah's progress and how she is adapting to her new home, but I will start a whole new post for that. Now to make Introductions complete. Heres a few pics of my babies

Hi! I'm so glad to hear you're keeping Kiyah (cute name). You got a keeper husband! That is very sweet of him, I hope she doesn't end up being much of a shedder. I thank God none of us have allergies or there would have been no way of having our own girl, Kuma...fur bunnies are the current decorations for the moment. I can't keep up with combing her out.
I hope you like it here. I think it'll be great reading about Kiyah adapting to her new home & getting to know her better as you do. As well as your other two dogs.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

Yeah, Im very excited! The one good thing is i do work at the vet clinic and we sell products like the furminator! lol I swear by them. I bath just about all the dogs that come in for baths and the long haired ones I always bath in that stuff and then blow there coats out real good then brush them with the furminator brush! That brush works wonders on long haired thick coat dogs! So, that will help alot as I have been taking her back and fourth to work with me. So, I have just been brushing her out while im on my lunch.
Kiyah is such a sweet girl! She seems to be warming up to daisy more and more. Flash on the other hand I think is getting jealous and playig the dominant male or atleast trying to. Plus he is still in those puppy stages (he is only 10 months old). So he still makes her a bit nervous when he gets to romping around and barking. I will start another post about her progress and tell alittle more about her. Thanks for the warm welcome! And nice to meet all of you!
