Default Demonstrably affectionate!

Hi everyone,
here's a picture of the family, so far. Skippy's the one on the right - curled up in one of his favorite sleeping positions.

Skippy is a Vizsla. He's typical of the breed: very active and very friendly. He's constantly following us around from room to room and he loves visitors.

Gorgeous - I don't think I have ever met a vizsla - only seen pics. Very handsome.

I knew it the moment I saw Skippy's color. He reminds me of a snake with that pose though.

It's really interesting how the color gives them away. You can see a flash of dog far away across a field and you just know it's a Vizsla.

You nailed it Skip. NAILED it! I doubt you'll mistake them for another breed, since they're awesomely unique.

Here's a better picture of Skippy. It's not an 'action' picture (all of those are blurry), but it is right after the action!

Blurry or no blur, we'd be more than willing to take them Skip. You can count on that! Is that a lake? Wouldn't be surprise if he did go for a swim..

Thanks for the interest Doug! Like most folks, I'm always willing to show him off.
I was a bit embarrassed when I went to look for pictures and saw that I didn't have anything recent - so we went for a walk in the woods to record some new memories.
It was a beautiful day for a walk today!

Great photos but I guess with a model like that you can't go wrong :-)

Smile Welcome to the forum!

I should of known that is a Vizsla right off as my son has one--calls her Whitney--although that 1st pic wasn't as easy to see. Guess you already know how much energy this breed has and how fast they can run! My son's got loose a couple of times and was a long ways away---amazingly how far it went in such a short time. He couldn't find her and he had fliers, etc out --called different humane societies, etc. Long story but he almost didn't get her back--She was at 'a pound' that he had called before and they didn't notify him about her. Someone at his work place happened to see her on the internet. He called the pound and got her just in time as somebody had already filled out papers to adopt her and were coming that next day to take her home with them.

I love those last 3 pics--esp. the swimming one!

Any problems with the pictures not coming out perfectly are due to the photographer, not the model!

Here in our neck of the woods (NJ), Vizslas are becoming more and more popular. 5 years ago there may have been 4 in the area including puppy Skippy. Today there are close to 20. They really are 'demonstrably affectionate' - just like the breed standard says!

He has lots of napping positions, but this is one of his favorites. The funny thing is that it seems to be a favorite to Vizslas in general. I was a Europe last summer and spent some time with some Vizslas. I was really surprised to discover that not only did they all look similar, but they shared some of the same habits with Skippy. This napping position was one of them. It's kinda like when a bird rests with its head under its wing. I guess it's comfortable...
