Hi everyone, glad to be here!

This is our new puppy, Paxton. He's about 10 weeks old, we adopted him from an animal shelter a couple of weeks ago. He was rescued from a puppy farm and the people at the shelter didn't know what breed he was. We can definitely see kelpie, and maybe staffy? What do you guys think?

P.S. We're in Australia so not sure if you're familiar with these breeds...

The biggest problem here for guessing the breeds is that your puppy is too young yet to make a good guess. He will change in looks as he grows to adulthood. Lol, you may not even recognize the same dog! Glad you have pics now so you can compare later. He is a very cute, alert puppy! Is he full of the 'dickens?'

Curious about his name---What is the meaning of the name. Lol, I have a Cocker Spaniel named Max that I call Pax, Paxer or Paxy---Just a 'nickname' but no meaning to the word(s) or so I think/thought----Is there a meaning of sorts?

The kelpie of course is prob. not that familiar a dog here in the states that I know of. Staffie is a very well-known breed here. Hey, will leave you with a link to a good site that shows all (most?) breeds:

I can definitely see some Staffy in the pup. But it is hard to tell since he is so young. But welcome to the site anyway!

Haha maybe there is a meaning but we named him Paxton as in Bill Paxton! One of Angelina Jolie's kids is called Pax though...

He was advertised at the pound as 'medium sized' although his legs and paws are growing so fast, I'm thinking maybe he will be quite big...

He is very energetic, smart and playful. He definitely has a lot of kelpie in him--he tries to round me up when he gets excited. He has some health problems, most likely from his awful start in life. We're hoping he recovers fully and grows up big a strong.
