Default 2 Pit bulls and a german shepard mix

Hi, I'm Teresa and I have (as the title says) 2 pit bulls, Isis and Ares, and a german shepard mix, Mercedes. I recently moved and my male has started obsessively drinking...even to the point of urinating just to drink it I think it was the the sudden and complete change that has him behaving this way. Any tips???

Smile Welcome to the Forum!

Which breed is the male that is doing all this drinking? Did you move to a warmer climate? On another note--I hope it isn't a kidney problem that just happened to happen at the same time as your moving---You may want to get some blood work done, etc to rule out a health issue. When a dog drinks excessively--Could be the sign of a problem with the kidneys---You might put --> dog excessive drinking--in your browser.

How long ago did you move? What are the 'characteristics' of this dog--Is he a 'nervy' dog or is his nature a calm one? It may be for the reason you think --depending on how long ago this started happening--if it was exactly as soon as you moved and it has only been a couple days that he has been acting this way--maybe give him a few more days---But if he starts acting sick, etc---I would definitely have him checked out. I don't know where you moved--whether in the country or what--Could he of gotten something in the environment he is now in?

As far as any tips you asked for---I can only say--DO NOT TAKE THE WATER AWAY-----If it is a health problem he may need the water!!

Default Welcome to the forum, Teresa

CorkyMax is right, if he is drinking as much as I think, do get him checked out by a vet. Blood work for sure. Is your dog urinating just as much as he is drinking? I had a cat that started to drink alot and flooding his litter box, it turned out that he had diabetes.
All the best.
