Hi....I have 2 bulldogs. Mia is an Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog and Jersey is our rescued Abused American Bulldog. The two girls get along great and we are slowly socializing Jersey.

Be very careful with an American Bulldog in Ontario... They are included in the god-awful breed bans, though I'm thinking that no one is enforcing the bans? Stupid gvt! My Sister moved to Ottowa a couple of years ago, my Mom is moving there to be closer to her upcoming grandbabies, when asked if I was going to move there the answer is NO, I wont live anywhere I couldn't have a Pit Bull!!! I want one someday, when I have more room

Hi all, if this would let post a picture you would see that my girls do not look like pitbulls. I was not aware that bulldogs were part of BSL. They are beautiful, happy, well socialized dogs that I bring with me everywhere. Mia has grown up in the dog park down the street and is well known and loved in our community.. Jersey looks like a boxer. I do however come across the odd person who makes a "pitbull" comment but once they meet them the comment changes to "What lovely dogs you have."

This is a lovely forum filled with good advice and nice people. Thanks for welcoming me and I look forward to getting to know you all.

I know Ambulls look nothing like Pitbulls, to the experienced eye, however the breed is, I do believe, included in the bans... I could be wrong though. I really like them, and would happily rescue a deaf Ambull There are certainly plenty of them needing rescue!

Not that there should be BSL, in any form anywhere! I really hate it! It's useless and heartbreaking!

I met a GORGEOUS Ambull one day, going out to the rez to rescue some pups, my co-rescuer was like "that's a huge pit bull" I was like "there's no way that's a pitbull! That's an American Bulldog!" He was built like a huge pitty crossed with an English Bulldog, he was STUNNING! and such a baby

BSL sucks...I agree.

I have 3 American Staffordshires living on my block that are no older than 2 years. The owners only let the dogs out to pee and they have probably never seen a vet. That is what the BSL has created. Not only do people still breed and own these dogs but they hide and confined them to the house. When and if they ever "get out" they may attack people or other animals because they have never been socialized.

I know of other areas that ban Rotties as well. Most authorities couldn't tell the difference between a Lab and Irish Setter let alone a Pit from a Bulldog.

Jersey is listed as a Boxer from my townships canine enforcer (where we got her from ....see what I mean by not knowing breeds) so she is safe from BSL and Mia is registered from the breeder. We brought her with us to get Jersey and the Canine guy fell in love with her! It helps that she is a lovable goofball.
