Hello All
Must say I am glad to find this site... a little google searching and I seemed to have found a good place to land.
Anyways my name is Maria, I am actually visiting the States from Europe as my professor/supervisor is in the USA for the Masters degree I chose to take.
I am living with a friend of the family and fellow student - small world huh - and between the 2 of us we have 6 dogs. I brought my dogs from Europe, I just couldn't leave them. That and my friend lives on a small farm like setting [3 acres] outside of the city with her parents.
I don't have pictures right now, twitty me... I had a fever just before Christmas and in some delusion deleted all my photo bucket pics. Will post them later, when I can get some new pics.
Dog #1 is a 6 to 7 year old Lurcher named Hunter, 28" tall at shoulder, short/medium hair with a slight curl, brindle markings on a cream body... he's a Woldhound x Collie with some Borzoi in the bloodline that I adopted from the local pound when he was 3. He's a sap... one just has to point at him and snap their fingers and he's on his back for a belly rub, tongue lolling [it's a trick - works better when one says Bang]
Dog #2 - is a 8 year old black & white show quality Phalene [the drop earred Papillion] female by the name of Sheila. Agility queen... no obstacle is ever too big for Sheila in pursuit of dog treats. She is a bossy little mit though who will scramble after Hunter yapping her silly little head off when he decides to run off at the dog park... she's literally eatting his dust.
Dog #3 - is a 4 year old landseer Newfoundland named Cookies & Cream, aka Cookie. He is a big boy, overweight at about 200lbs, though the vet says that is more his bone stature than anything. He is terrified of water due to a run in with a sprinkler as a puppy and I more or less have to wrestle him into the tub or kiddies pool to get him to have a bath... a 200lb dog to a 145lb woman, who do you think wins? But when the need arises he will bark with that deep Newfie bark.. ad usually cause he hasn't done anything but sit on his butt until then, scares you half to death when he does.
Dog #4 - is a 18 month old pet quality tri-colored [she has no blaze, hence pet quality] Phalene named Moth... Broken Wings is her real name, but we call her Moth. I share her with my roommate/friend though this little scamp seems to have adopted me. She is absolutely spoiled rotten, enough that she will ignore when been called... forget doing tricks for a treat... and if she really wants to get you going she'll ignore her toys and chew the heck out of a pinecone/acorn whatever sort of large seed/nut she can wrap her jaws around.
Dog #5 - 10 week old sable Pomeranian. My Christmas present from my cousin. She is Katsumi and is absolutely a fluff ball... just got her Monday, an early present but who cares.
Dog #6 - Maximilian - is my friend's American Staffordshire Terrier often mistaken as a pitbull by the average "joe". He is a 4 year old blue brindle who is unlike any dog I have ever seen. He is an absolute attention hog, he will do anything for a cuddle, or a pet... including this absolutely bizarre "puppy whine". He will walk with my friend with a "backpack" on carrying her waterbottle and his smaller water bowl for drinks on a stroll.

Sounds like quite the crew! I'm confused though, because not having a blaze isn't a disqualification as far as I'm aware, and shouldn't make your Pap automatically pet quality.

Hi, Maria.
Your dogs sound lovely, but I am confused as to why the lack of blaze means she is not show quality. According to AKC breed standards:
Color
Always parti-color or white with patches of any color(s). On the head, color(s) other than white must cover both ears, back and front, and extend without interruption from the ears over both eyes. A clearly defined white blaze and noseband are preferred to a solidly marked head. Symmetry of facial markings is desirable. The size, shape, placement, and presence or absence of patches of color on the body are without importance. Among the colors there is no preference, provided nose, eye rims and lips are well pigmented black.
The following faults shall be severely penalized - Color other than white not covering both ears, back and front, or not extending from the ears over both eyes. A slight extension of the white collar onto the base of the ears, or a few white hairs interspersed among the color, shall not be penalized, provided the butterfly appearance is not sacrificed. Disqualifications - An all white dog or a dog with no white.
So, unless I am reading the standard incorrectly, your dog should still be able to be shown because she does not have any of the faults...and she is not all white or with no white, is she? Are the standards different in Europe?

UKC breed standard:
COLOR
The Papillon is always parti-colored - white with patches of any color. They may be any parti-color, as long as the nose, eye rim and lip pigment is black. Head color, other than white, must cover both ears, on the back and the front, and extend without interruption from the ears over both eyes. A clearly defined white blaze and noseband are
preferred over a solidly marked head. Facial-marking symmetry is desirable. The size, shape, placement, or absence, of body patches are without importance. No color is preferred over any other.
A slight extension of the white collar onto the base of the ears, or a few white hairs interspersed on the color, are not to be penalized provided they do not detract from, or sacrifice, the butterfly appearance.
Very Serious Faults: Other than white color on the head that does not cover both of the ears, back and front, and/or does not extend from the ears over both the eyes.
Disqualification: Albinism. An all white dog. A dog with no white.
Don't see anything here about a missing blaze being a disqualification.
Kennel Club: Characteristics
The name ‘Papillon’ is derived from the shape and position of the ears. When erect they are carried obliquely like the spread wings of a butterfly, hence the name. When the ears are completely dropped this type is known as the ‘Phalene’ (Moth). Head markings should be symmetrical, about a narrow white, clearly defined blaze which is desirable but not essential to represent the body of a butterfly.
FCI:
COLOURS : All colours are admitted on a coat with a white background. On the body and legs, the white must be dominant in relation to the colour. The white on the head preferably extended by a more or less wide blaze. A white marking is admitted on the lower part of the head, but dominant white on the head constitutes a fault. In all cases, the lips, the eyelids and principally the nose must be pigmented.
FAULTS : Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree and its effect upon the health and welfare of the dog.
• Skull flat, apple-shaded and bulging as in the small English Toy Spaniels.
• Stop too much or insufficiently accentuated.
• Nose not black.
• Muzzle arched or hollow.
• Depigmentation of the lips.
• Overshot and especially undershot mouth.
• Eye small, too round, prominent; light in colour; showing white when the dog looks straight ahead.
• Depigmentation on the edges of the eyelids.
• Roach- or saddle back.
• Tail curly, resting on the back; falling on the side (that is the bone and not the fringes which, because of their length, fall in locks).
• Forelegs bowed.
• Pastern joints knotty.
• Hindquarters weak.
• Hindquarters, which, seen from the back, are out of the vertical at the stifle, the hocks and the feet.
• Single or double dewclaws on the hind legs are undesirable and constitute a beauty fault. Their removal is therefore advisable.
• Feet turning inwards or outwards.
• Nails not touching the ground.
• Coat poor, soft or blown (puffed up); hair planted straight or itself straight; woolly hair; undercoat indicating cross-breading with the Spitz.

Unless the UKC is different then the AKC if she has a Champion title she must have been to breed standard..In order to have to have a dog compete for a title they have to meet the breed standard..Now even if they do not meet the standard they can still be AKC and I assume UKC registered simply because they're a purbreed dog..Perhaps the OP meant the dog was simply UKC registered.
My Akita Seigi is a great example of his breeds standard however he's neutered so obviously he can't compete but that didn't prevent him from being AKC registered.

It won't let me post links here because I'm too low on the post count, but several of the pics of dogs she claims to own are 'borrowed' from other peoples sites and photo albums.
